What Racquet to Choose

Who does not like to go to a large tennis dealer like Tennis Express, Tennis Warehouse, Midwest Racquet Sports etc, look at and hit tennis racquets?  So many choices and we all have our different preferences of what looks good and we think are very cool.

This where the problem comes in - marketing - We tend to choose racquets based on our favorite pro uses it, our buddy uses it or some other similar criteria.   The one that is particularly interesting is the “I can get a point off Alcaraz” person giving advice on racquets and tennis in general.  My opinion is to choose a racquet that is comfortable.  Very few people in the world are advanced or professional players and what those players do is simply put well above and out of reach of the club and league player.  I recommend a quality racquet and do not shy away from oversized racquets, especially if you are a new player.  Tennis should be a lifetime of good exercise and fun.  If you struggle with a racquet that is more than you can handle it will detract from the quality of the experience.

Now go hit ‘em good and most important HAVE FUN!
